H1B expiry date

Hi,

I got my H1B stamping from Chennai consulate on 15th Dec 2006.

My query is regarding the expiry date for the H1b visa,I have heard that H1B expiry date is 3 yrs, for me the expiry date is 2.5 yrs.Why is this? My [etition and visa expiry dates matches though.Pls see below for the details.
Can any body pls explain?

Details:

H1B issue date : 18 Dec 2006
Expiry date : 26 May 2009.

Petition date's:

Notice date : October 10 2006
Expiry date : 26 May 2009

---- What is the problem?. The issue date for your H1 Visa is the day you went for your Visa interview. The expiry date for the Visa is as per your petititon
