delayed to attend visa stamping

Hi,

I got H1 papers in the year 2005. I took appointment to attend the interview in March 2006, but I was unable to attend the interview as my present company send me to France for one year on deputation. Now I have taken appointment for visa stamping , I would like to know certain key points in this regard,

1) Can I attend the interview now ?
2) Is my delay in attending the interview an issue ?
3) What kind of documents I need to show to support my deputation in France?
