disagreement on the term of employment

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I have question regarding H1B status in the US.
If I entered the States with H1B visa and never gotten a chance to work with the petitioner due to disagreement on the term of employment. Will I be able to stay in the United States to look for a new employer with H1B visa status? Is there a grace period for staying with H1B visa? I have done some research and found out different outcome.

Also, I would like to know whether the new employer can hire me right away or after filing another petition for changing of employer?

There is no grace period. If you are not working for the sponsoring employer and if you are not being paid salary, you are illegal in this country. You will have very tough time getting another petition approved.
