Query Regarding H1

HI

I have a H1 filed by my company . but iam getting any onsite oppurtunity and
my manager says i wont be getting oppurtunity in the near 10 months by then it will be one and half years wait after getting H1.

So please some one let me know if i can use the H1 i have to get myself a Job in USA may through some other company.
