I am staying in US on H1. My wife joined me in US on H4 which is stamped on her passport. When she landed is US we immediately got approval for her for h1b petition.
The petition is without the change of status or new I94 since it was applied before she entered United States. We went to local immigration office. Local office indicated she is eligible to work in United States. They even passed internal letter to SSN office. She got her SSN.
Her original mentions that "Petition approval does not authorise employment". I am confused whom should I belive. Can anyone advice here??
Also can I go to Canada US consulate to get her first H1B stamping?
