H4 visa with 221(g) for additional docs with drop box option

My wife attended interview on 21st dec at that time she was issued 221(g) form for additional docs, like 1.original paystubs for this year(even though she has given all the pay stubs to VO)2.Marriage ceremony explanation,pls write a letter how you met your wife(even VO didn't look at the original marriage certificate,photos & invitation cards)
We submitted all the docs along with passport in chennai vfs office on 22nd dec,they replied they submitted all the docs on 26th dec to consulate
Till now we didn't receive any response from consulate
In mail conversation they r giving reply like your case is still under administrative process
Recently I sent attached mail with notarized 3 latest paystubs & 2006 w2 form,in reply We cannot accept the attached documents in support of your visa application. Please wait for the process on your case to be completed. If we need additional documents from you, we will let you know
Online passport tracking delivery is showing Your passport has not been handed over to VFS. Kindly contact our regional call centres for further queries

Pls advice me what to do and how long it will take for processing,
how many days they will keep my wife passport with them

in the same 221g boat

iam also in the same boat, i submitted all the extra documents on Jan19th, its more than one month till i have not received any updates on my passport. I emailed to consulate, they told my case is under admistrative processing. Iam not sure what to do. The only way is to wait and wait and wait...... till we hear from consulate.

221(g) for additional docs with drop box option

I'm also in the same boat. I dropped all my H1 additional 221g docs on 31 Jan 2007. Still there is no reply from Chennai consulate. Almost 40 days gone...Still waiting......I mailed them. I got an reply stating that ur case is in administrative processing, consulate will contact you.

H4 visa stamping drop box option , passport returned without stamping

My wife and daughter went for h4 visa stamping in new delhi. As the passport expired in Jan-31-2016 , they were eligible for the drop box option.
submitted the document and passport at new delhi drop box center at Nehru Place On :- Mar-17-2016
Received the email to collect the passport on :- 23 MAR 2016.
Collected the passport on :- 28 March 2016
But my verified the passport , she found that passport is returned without visa stamped on it.And there was no 221(g) slip attached either.
Currently the visa status is showing as Administrative process in website.
I emailed to "[email protected] , they replied me that "Our records indicate that the couple needs to appear for another interview at the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi on any working day before 11:00 am except March 30".

My question is .
1) As the US embassy has asked that couple need to appear does it mean I also need to appear.
Currently I am in US.
2) I am not sure how will the associate at US embassy will allow my family to go in without the appointment letter.

Any suggestion on this would be really appreciable.
