Hi,
I came to US in Jan 2005 for the first time on a F1 visa. I graduated in feb 2007. My OPT is valid through Dec 2007.
I haven't been able find a job yet, so couldn't file my H1 in this year's(Fiscal year 2008) quota. Now if I find a job in next couple of months, I am not sure how to take it from there.I need answers/suggestions from experts regarding this.
I can work in the US till the end of Dec 2007 on an EAD (OPT). I will be out of status after that(Jan 2008- October2008).
I am married, and my husband's H1 just got approved. If I change my status to H4 in Jan 2008, how long will it be before I can start working again?
Do I have to wait till October 2008 (H1-Stamping) to start working??
Or can I start working immediately after my H1-B is approved sometime in april/may of next year??
Will it be better if i can maintain my F1 status instead of switching to H4??
