Name change on Driver's License

Hi,

My wife is on H4 visa. She has driver's license with her maiden name. We wanted to change it married name, but they said, they can not accept Indian Marraige certificate. They asked us to get married in US, show US marraige certificate and then get changed.

Any body tried this before ?

Please let me know.

---- The DMV office is not correct in their approach and they are misleading you

---- Depending on the state you are residing in you can try approaching a different office of DMV.

---- Alternately, you can get your marriage certificate attested by approaching the nearest office of the Indian Consulate and that serves as teh official and authenticated document
