Is it compulsory to hold a current job to attend H1B visa interview

Hi,

I currently dont hold a job. I have resigned the company and was in search for a new job. In the mean time I got my H1 petition approved. Is it compulsory to hold a job currently(not the job that the petitioner has offered) while attending a H1B visa interview?

it is better if you are in-job on the day you go for a visa interview.
