H1 transfer on OPT before october (Please help its urgent)

Hi,

My H1 has just been approved, but I want to transfer it to a different employer as my current employer is unable to get me a project. Can the transfer be done before october as I am on OPT right now and my H1 gets active from october? Some one told me that if I transfer the H1 after october, I would need two paystubs, but what happens if I want to transfer before october? Some one please help.
