I-94 card while travelling during gap period between opt (F1) to H1-B

Can someone clarify that on expiry of OPT and before begining of H1-B which I-94 card to be dropped of at the Airport while travelling outside.

1. I-94 stamped as F1 D/S while entering US white card.
2. I-94 right botom bortion of I797 approval.
3. 1 and 2 both.

Please guide.

I-94 dilemma

Can someone clarify that on expiry of OPT and before begining of H1-B which I-94 card to be dropped of at the Airport while travelling outside.

1. I-94 stamped as F1 D/S while entering US white card.

---- This is the I-94 card that needs to be dropped off at the POD

2. I-94 right botom bortion of I797 approval.

---- Even if the I-94 is valid you have to drop it off as you are leaving the US and when you enter with a valid Visa you will get a fresh I-94

3. 1 and 2 both.

---- Ideally, you should drop both the I-94's as you will be needing a H1 Visa to enter US. You have to apply for the Visa at a US Consulate overseas, get it stamped and then enter US. At that time you will be given a fresh I-94 at the POE
