H1 visa renew in Mexico

Hi

I have H1B visa till OCT1,2007. Currently waiting on approval notice for H1 Transfer for more than 3 months. If i want to get my visa renewed/stamped in Mexico, should i do premium processing and try to get the approval and visit US embassy in Mexico before oct1 or can i wait till i get the approval, to renew visa.

Can I ask you how long it took for you to get the recepit notice for the transfer?

I started working right after applying for the transfer. I think there is no need to wait for the receipt letter to start working.
Applied for H1 transfer on April 15th and started working on April 23. Online status check shows the I129 petition was received on May 12.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
But I do beleive you have to wait for your recepit notice to start the new job.....this is my second transfer and the attorney who was handling the last one specifically told me this. I could be wrong but dont wanna take any chances...
