Query regarding Passport Expiry and Visa Renewal

Dear ImmiHelp,

I have a query regarding passport expiry and H1 visa renewal.

My passport expires on 21-May-2008. Currently i'm in H1 visa. My H1 visa expires on 20-May-2007. I have to submit for visa renewal now. If i renew/restamp my visa now will i get the visa stamped for next 3 years
though my passport will expire next year? AND if i get so renewed for next 3 years can i use that visa valid for next 3 years that will be stamped in a passport valid only upto next year?

Will US consulate do such visa stamping where Visa stamped will be valid for next 3 years in a passport valid only for an year?

Please do kindly clarify my doubt.

When your passport expires that still has valid visa in it, you just renew
your passport and carry both passports for travel.
