Regarding H1B Transfer

I have H1B visa already with the designation as Civil Engineer.

I want to change my career track and shift to Information Technology. For that I would like to transfer my H1 to a Software Consultant.

Is it possible for me to transfer my H1 without any potential problems as my original designation was Civil Engineer?

if there is any evidence that you have done some courses/degrees/certifiactes in computer related subjects..then that should not be a problem...

Requirement is a Bachelor's degree in related field. Engineering is a related field. However, it WILL BE easier if you have a computer diploma and/or 3 yrs of exp. in computer field.
