H4 after marrying H1B holder

Hi,

I have a query. I am getting married on 22nd nov. 2007. My fiance works on H1B visa in U.S.A.

My question is that can I take an appointment for H4 Visa in the U.S. Consulate before my marriage date?

And if yes then what should I put in my marital status?

Depends upon the consulate you will be visiting.

If Mumbai, you can't do that because you have to send the papers before the interview. You can do so for other consulates.

You need to write married in the appointment, because you will be married at the time of interview.
