H1 to H4.

My wife has H1B but her company is not sending her to US.
However, since we want to stay together, I am planning to file her H4.

Once she gets H4, does her H1B gets invalidated ? Or can she still use her H1 if she gets a job here.

If her H1 stamp is valid, you can bring her with H1, as soon as she landed US (next day) you can change the H1 to H4.

Then try for a job , if she gets one you can go back to H1 without waiting for any quota issue.
