H1 stamping......How long in chennai???

My hubby sent his passport for stamping. Its been more than 3 weeks. How lng does stamping take these days.

any ideas on this

today we called the chennai consulate for enquiry and they say it comes under some clearance case. what does this mean at all, any light on this please? they also said it might take another ten days.
