L1 to H1 visa

I have been in U.S for the last 3 years in L1 visa. I am planning to transfer from L1 to H1 visa. I am looking for a H1 sponsor. when I transfer from L1 to H1 how long I can stay in H1. Will I be able to stay for 6 years or only for 3 years since I have already stayed for 3 years.

3 years.
The time in any L and H status combined can not exceed 6 years.
If you have an LC pending for over 1 year or an I-140 pending, you can get yearly H1 extensions past the allowed 6 years.
