  • H4 to H1B Visa Staming in Mexico

    Hello Senior members,
I am planning to go to Mexico for H1 visa stamping and here are my details,

    Nationality - Indian
    Current Visa Status - H4
Consulate attended for initial H4Stamping - One of the Caribbean Islands (JM)
Current Status - H1B (Got approval in Aug '07)

    my question is ,

Can I attend US Consulate in Mexico for H1B stamping even though I got H4 stamped in Non Home country Consulate(JM)?

    Please advice...

    Thanks in advance
    Vee

    I got this Information.....

If we have a 797B petition approved, we have to apply for a Change of Status first.Only after the Change of Status is approved, we can go to Mexico for a stamping.

Incase we already have a 797A,then we are eligible to apply in Mexico for a stamping.

Also Change of Status(COS) can be applied via Premium processing which will be done in 15 days with an additional pay of 1000$.

    Hope this information was useful.
