Visa Extension

Hello,

My employer applied for extension for my H1B visa and my wife's H4 visa. Here are my questions:

1) Do we get a receipt no. from INS?
If "Yes", then in how many days?
2) How long does the visa extension process take?

Hi!!

I read your old posting regarding your wife's H4 visa application. I also had H1 and then changed my status to H4 in U.S and am now planning to go to India for H4 visa application. Kindly could you pl. tell me what documents relating to old H1 visa were asked by the BCIS.
