  • H1 B Stamping in the US

    Hi,

I have two questions which I would like to get clarified.

    1. I have received the approval notice (I-797C) from INS which is a one page document. Is this document alone sufficient to get my visa stamped in the US? (ofcourse along with other documents like passport, DS-156 form etc.)

    2. Can I get my Visa Stamped in the US while I work here? If so, how long does the process take?

Your response will be greatly appreciated.

    Can you please clarify me....

Is it H-1 extension or H-1 transfer?

Now a days they are taking 2-3 months time. At the end of that time mostly they are asking the candidates to go to their origin country and get it stamped at their neares consulate office. If it is H-1 extension, they can drop the required papers in the droip box. If it is H-1 transfer they have to send the papers to consultae and they will give you the date and time for personal interview. After the personal interview, they will tell you whether VISA is granted or denied. This rule started in India from today July 14th 2003.

      H1B renewal

It is better to apply in US and then try at India.
