H1B extension - pls help..urgent.

My petition will expire in 2008 may. When i submitted for my extension documents to my employer, he told be he was not able to extend my h1. He requested me to convert to L1.

Employer notes:

you do not qualify to work in H1 status beyond your I-94 expiry date due to statutory compulsions.

Please suggest whether these compulsions are by my employer or USCIS.

2 yrs..

my employer applied for H1B in April 2005. I got stamped on Dec 2005.

This is my first extension.

then unless the jo no longer satifies the H1 requirements i dont see any reason, maybe you need to have a talk with employer

i am working with same client from past two yrs and expected to work with same client for another one year. I don't know why my employer is saying like that.

I posted here to know that if I change my employer will i have any problems with my extension or not.
