Re: got H1B extension for longer period than expected
No, it is not necessary to inform USCIS. They have all the data in their files, anyway.

Guest repliedThanks for your replies. But do I have to notify anybody about this mistake?
My wife has filed for green card and we are expecting to complete the labor by the end of this year. I am hoping that I will still have one more year left to get my EAD.

Guest repliedIf your GC labor application is pending for more than 1 year or I-140 is pending for more than 1 year then you can extend your H-1 for the 7th year.

Guest repliedUSCIS sometimes makes such mistakes. You still should not continue to work on H1 after the 6 years are over.
Doing otherwise can cause problems later on.

got H1B extension for longer period than expected
I have recently changed my employer and applied for h1b transfer. I got my H1B approval and I found that the period mentioned on the I-94 exceeds the 6 years cap that is allowed for h1b workers. I was on H1B since 1998 December, and now I got an extension till 2006 May.(I am only supposed to get till 2004 Dec)
What shall I do?
Thanks in advance!Tags: None
