H1B/ Visa status-Travel to India

Hi

I had a valid visa on my passport from my previous company till sep-2008,recently I had a new H1B filed from my current employer.

I got to travel to India this month for a short visit.
1) Can I travel to India along with the current employers H1B documents since I have a valid visa till 2008 sep?
2) Due to short duration , I cant go for new visa stamping in US.Are the above documents sufficient for me to travel and return back?
