  • H-1B visa stamp for Chinese/Canadian

I got my H-1B visa at Montreal consulate in August 2002 with the H-1B approval document from INS and my Chinese passport. The visa was valid for one year because my H-1B approval from INS was valid for one year and I was a Chinese and permanent resident of Canada in 2002.

Later on, INS extended my H-1B approval, the extension is valid till 2006, the I-94 indicated the country of nationality is P.R.China. Now I became a Canadian citizen, have a new Canadian passport.

Do I need to re-apply the H-1B entry visa for my Canaian passport at Montreal consulate if I need to travel?

Will the I-94 with the Chinese nationality be effective for my Canadian passport?

I understand the H-1B has two parts, the first is BCIS(old INS) approval, the second is the entry visa for travel.

I am concerned if I will have the problem if I travel to Asia and re-enter USA?

    Your response is highly appreciated!
