Change in Name

I recently changed the name on my passport from my maiden name to my married name. I had applied for my H1B extension earlier using my maiden name, hence I have a I-797 document with my maiden name. I have been asked to file a name change amendment on my I-797.

Can someone advice me if I can go for Visa stamping before I get the amendment approved or I should wait till it is approved and then go.
