    Folks,

My H1-B petition for FY2008 is approved and I am awaiting for documents. My employer said they have received a 'notice of action' that my petition is approved. They told me that they need it for their records and the one that lawyer receives will be mine. Is it true that USCIS sends out two copies of approval - one to employer and another to lawyer?

It has been about 10 days since my petition was approved. Does it take this long for my lawyer to receive the copy? I have read scary posts here that say it will take 6 months to replace a lost petition. I am trying not to imagine the that will be the case with mine.

    Appreciate your replies.

Yes, USCIS sends a copy of I797A/B to the lawyer and another courtesy copy.

It will take 2-3 weeks sometimes to get the approval. But since your employer got it, the lawyer also should have got it around the same time as both of them are mailed out at the same time.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
