Working outside the US on H4 visa

My spouse is on H1 visa in the US. I know that as a dependent on H4 visa, somebody can't work in the US. My question is, if you get an offer to work outside the US and will work outside the US and come back every 4-5 months, are you violating your H4 status?

IF you are not in the U.S., then you are not any status. Thus, you cannot violate your H4 status when you are not present in the U.S. When you are in the U.S. on H4 status, you cannot work.

You can work outside the U.S. in a country you have legal rights to work.
