  • H1B : 6 years & 6 months

I applied for my H1B Extension and got approved. But the problem(!) is my total H1B comes for 6 years and 6 months.

    1) Will there be any problem if I go for stamping?
    2) Will there be any problem in applying LC or other stages of GC?

    Members, please help me here.

PS: I am with consultant. I talked to them. They said this is ok and no need to worry about it.

You should not use any period past the 6 years without proper documentation of a labor filed 365 days before or an I140 is approved. Any USCIS error should not be used for your advantage.

As far as stamping goes, it may not be an issue. But the VO may ask for documents to prove that you are eligible for extension past the 6 years.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
