H4 to H1 status change

Dear friends,

I got my H4 on 30th April 2008. Iam leaving to US on 5th Sep 08. My husband is already there. My visa is valid till 26 Sep 2010.

1. Can anyone tell me when can i apply for H4 to H1 status change?
2. What are the documents required?
3. What is the procedure?
4. How long it will take for the status change?

You need to wait till April 2009 and find a H1b sponsor before then if you don't have an approved H1b already.
