Amended H1 B

Hi,

I was working in H1 B visa and recently applied for COS from H1 B to H4 due to personal reasons.I dont have H1 B stamping in my passport.

My question is

- I am planning to go to India and get my H4 stamped in India.My employer said

i can apply for an amended H1B on my return so that i can start working.

Can anyone give info abt amended H1 B?

How much do it will cost for applying amended H1B?

Currently i dont have H1 b stamping in the passport and on my return i will

have H4 stamping.Will still i be eligible to apply for amended H1B?

Amended H1 uses the same good ol' I-129. Check USCIS for fees.
