I have recently got H1-B visa stamped from the U.S consulate, Chennai. But
the visa stamp has got a minor printing error at petitioner Name field( It
printed as Cotcom instead of Dotcom). All the other details are printed
correctly. I have mailed the passport and other required documents for the
error correction, but I have received it back with no correction and with a
note saying that embassy can make the corrections only if there are any
errors related to personal details. Could you please clarify this issue and
also advice me whether this cause any misunderstanding at the time of port
of entry into U.S.A?
Same question was asked to U.S embassy at Chennai and they say that they don't correct
annotations.
Is there any way to get this corrected or we need to go for fresh visa stamp again at U.S. embassy, Chennai? Please advice me.
Thanks.
