I am getting married and my fiance is planning to change surname on her Indian Passport (which cannot be done until Marriage Registration in Oct, 08). I am planning to schedule Visa Interview for H1-B renewal (myself) and H4 (fiance) in 3rd week of November.
I have a few issues with my scenario!
First: I am renewing my H1-B visa in November (going for visa interview in the same time frame)
Second: issuance of New Passport Booklet for surname change for my fiance (does this mean the Passport Number will be different than the current one?)
Third: if I schedule an appointment for H4 visa for my fiance with current Passport number (planning to have the same dates for both our interviews in november), can I change it after she gets the new Passport (after name change)? If not what is the procedure, should I wait until the new passport before scheduling an appointment? I am worried because of the time crunch in November, if I will get an appointment for my fiance on the same date.
Is there a workable solution for these concerns? Please clarify
