H1 reject

Hello,

I still did not get my H1 approval with COS from L1 to H1 that an employer filed for me.
I'm on L1B visa in the US now. Suppose if my H1B is rejected by USCIS, can I still continue to work on my L1B visa even after Oct 01 2008 ?

Will my change of status from L1 to H1 also get rejected in this case ?

My L1 is valid till July 2009.

Suppose in future if I file for my L1 extension, will my current L1 employer come to know that I'd once tried to file for an H1 with COS ?

How will I come to know the reason of my rejection ?

1. Yes if the L1 petition and I-94 are valid.
2. That is what got rejected as per q1. So, what is the issue here?
