Old H4 Expairing, New H4 Extension Pending

My H4(I-94) is expairing on Sep'08, I applied for extension 20 days ago.
Do I need to leave the country If I did not receive my extension before Sep'08.

No. As long as extension was filed before I-94 expired, you need not.
