L1 to H1 Conv

I see a lot of questions asked about L1 to H1 transfer, but couldn't find the one looking for.
Here is case. I came on H1 (company A) valid from Jul 04 to Jul 06. Then my company transfered my visa from H1 to L1 (so that my spouse can work) which is valid till Jul 09.
So my question is :
1) Is L1B can be extended after Jul 09 ?
Or
2) Can L1B be again transfered to H1 (same company) as 'Change of Status' ? since original validity for H1 is till Jul 2010 (6 yrs)

Total for L1+H1 is 6 years. You do the math. If L1 has been used for 5 years, it has to be a H1 COS and extensions possible if you have a pending Labor for your GC.
