What kind of social work and with which organization?

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

The details you provide are too little to provide any pointers.

          Are you currently in US?
Do you want volunteer work or to get paid?Qualifications?
Any other details? Would you be willing to join a School or program? Like School of social sciences? That provide some type of hours/credits as a part of curriculum?

She must find her own job the good old fashioned way - look for it. No one here is likely to have information about programs hiring social workers in your area. In addition, she needs to check on credentialing issues.

PS. Let her ask the questions. It will be good experience.

There are many like her, stay home women on H4 desperately looking for a way to work. Innumerable posts here: is there any way a person on H4 can work. The answer is obviously NO.

Regular H1 will be available next year April only. You have the advantage of a degree in social work, you might be able to find someone who can sponsor cap exempt H1 visa for her. As C4 said, you'll have to look into credentials. If you decide for a H1, you;ll have to see if you qualify for the specialized skills it needs.
