H1B Petition Validity

All,

I hold a valid H1B petition which was obtained on 1st September 2006 and is about to expire on 1st September 2009. I am planning to take the visa interview duing this month. In case i get the stamping, can i reach US after 1st Sep 2009? What is the period for which the visa stamping will be
provided ? Will my visa validity be 3 years or just 1 year as my petition is valid for only one more year from now?

Visa will be issued until the validity date on the petition. You dont need to get the visa stamped unless you have the need to travel after your visa has expired.
