EAD Renewal

Hello everyone,

My EAD will expire within 3 month, If I renew it,
1. Will I still undergo the Biometrics? how much would it cost?
2. How long is the processing until I received the new card?

Normally, you should apply for renewal of an EAD 6 months before its expiry.

Renewal of an EAD is nothing but applying for NEW EAD so it takes 2-3 months to get an EAD in hand (depending upon service centre).

Filing fee is same (I guess its $345) for both renewal / new EAD.

Usually, biometrics NOT required if

1. FP taken within last 15 months.
2. If you have filed renewal through papers (no e-filing)

That is not true. It is needed for e-filing even if the above condition is met. Paper filing is the best.
