L1-B and H1-B status

Hello All,

Currently am on a L1-B visa and got the approval for my H1-B (but not stamped). I am leaving to India on dec 2008 and I would like to come back on the same L1-B status and later do a L1-B to H1-B transfer.

If I enter the port again with L1 status (after Oct 1st), would that effect my H1? Would H1-B be cancelled or is it still valid so that I can do a L1 to H1 transfer later next year.

Please advice as this is very important for me.

Was the H1b a COS? Then look into leapfrog. There is a bus leaving San Diego
