frm OPT to H1B

hi
my opt ends on jan 7,2009.my h1b starts from oct 1,2008.Can i use my opt till jan 7.is that possible?bcos my h1b receipt has start date as oct 1 .

NO. OPT is invalid if the H1b was a COS approval changing your status to H1b from Oct 1st.
