... on your wife's passport is not a mandatory requirement. However, it does help establish additional proof of your marriage.

Does it make any difference if I go for interview without addition of my name in my spouse passport.

I worried about it pls advice.

Hi all,

I work in US on H-B came india for marriage .I live in Jammu(J&K) India.I got married on 8th Oct in Jammu(J&K) only. Now I want to take my wife with me on H4. I have already booked interview date on 17th Oct. I have marriage certificate but there is one problem when I went to passport office to add my name in my spouse passport, the officer told me it will take some time... month or more for verification coz my spouse passport was issued by Indian embassy Muscat(OMAN) after that only they will add name in her passport.

but on marriage certificate and on her passport my wife name is same.

can any one pls let me know is it madatory to have my name on my wife's passport or marriage certifcate is good enough.

pls advice.
