how much time is needed to get visa appointments in delhi

hey i m going to india in late dec..and i have to get the visa stamp from delhi us embassy....but now there is no appointments are available.
what should i do??? i have to renew my visa..?? if appointments will not available in jan...then wat will i do???

can anyone reply me ...i m very tensed about this issue.
