I have visa stamping at chennai, india. Do you have any recommendations on better hotel to stay near the embassy.

Depends on how much you want to spend. There are plenty on Mount Rd/Anna Salai area. Google has some sites that list the prices and you can call them and reserve. Don't book through the sites as they might be expensive than what the hotels actually charge.
