Travel while H4 is pending

Hi- My dependents H4 expires by 06/30/09 and assuming the H4 renewal is filed in Dec 2008, can they travel out of US while the H4 renewal application status is pending? FYI they will travel with a valid AP

They can travel outside the US. H4 renewal is important only if one is in the country. If they have plans to travel, file for renewal upon return or get your H1b renewed and they can enter with the approval notice of your H1b, not H4 renewal needed.

I an guessing you are not clear about the whole thing and need to do some reading.
