H1-B Cancellation when candidate is outside of USA

What happens if employer cancels H1-B when candidate is outside of USA (India) on vacation. Can candidate come back to USA as H1-B visa stamp on passport is still valid until 2010.

Except that it would be considered fraud. If such a thing happens, the person should find another sponsor, get the H1b approved, travel with a new I797 from the new employer.

nope do not try such adventures. at the port of entry the immigration officials check if your h1b is still valid (i.e. your I797 not your visa sgtamping) if it is found to be cancelled at port of entry you will be deported immediately in the next flight. this will create a black remark in your history
