H1 on 221, should I apply for H4 ?

Hello
I have got h1b after my MS, in US . I am in India for stamping but got 221 g.

I am getting married in 2nd week of Jan . No idea when will I get the approval.

My wife has H1b . Shoudl I apply for H4 ? If I get H4 and my h1b is on 221 (g) , is it fine ?
What if I get H1b approved later, after H4. will I be able to convert from H4 to H1b ?

She can go for H4 and use the H1b at a later date unless it is revoked by the consulate for fraud.
