221(g) white form issued at Mumbai

I have attended Visa interview at Mumbai consulate on 13th December.
Following were the questions:
VO: what is your current company?
Me: <Answered>
ME:How much of experience do you have?
VO: 3 years 8 months
VO:. For which company you are going to work?
Me: <Answered>
VO:. Inhouse/Client project?
Me: Inhouse
He started working on his PC and seeing me as idle. he asked me to explain the project
ME: Explained regarding the project

VO: Where is your company located?
ME: <Answered>
VO: What is the strength of the company?
ME: 18
VO: Just 18?
ME: Yes
He started searching for the US company in website and said he is not able to find it.
I helped him with the company's website.
He started viewing the company website and said that the company website is not mentioning that it develops internal projects and also no information on the internal projects.
ME: Internal projects are for company's use and they might not be highlighted on website
VO: No... They need to be mentioned on Website
ME: Okay
VO: Who are the clients for this project?
ME: Its an inhouse project, so no clients
VO: What does the company do?
ME: Software development services & Business consulting.

Then he tried to contact some person to clarify in this regard and found that he was not available at his seat.
VO: Sorry Sir! I need to issue 221(g) to you and started writing on the form

He finally issued the 221 white form asking for the following documents.
a. Client letter between Company and Client
b. COmplete project description including technical description, resource planning, project plan etc.
c. "What are the internal projects for this company and what is the reason that the internal projects development was not mentioned in the project."

ME: Next time, Do i need to attend the interview in person ?
VO: Yes
ME: Thank you

Any similar experiences?
How to deal with queries based on internal projects for the next time?
Can anybody help me with the probable questions for next time?
Most importantly, What are the chances of mine getting a H1b visa, as i am attending a personal interview one more time at Mumbai consulate?

It seems like you lied about an internal project while your company is a consulting company. You will be asked for details of it which you have got as per the 221(g).

Your project that the so called company delvelps internally for its own use without clients by spending so much money for workers would have to show a ROI (return on Investment, purpose, how it benefits the company etc). VOs are aware of H1b body shoppers and consulting companies that bring people to US without a project and bench them without pay which is illegal.

Chances of visa are slim as the same VO will take interview again in most cases. Rule #1: Never lie to immigration officials.

Due to the recession in US, H1b goes thru a lot of scrutiny. Having a client / project is a must these days.
i suggest get the necessary docs n wait for a few months till economy improves a bit (the obama effect) .. then try again.

Hi SK,

Even i also have similar experience in Mumbai consulate.
The VO guy asked me some general questions which i reply correctly. But at the end he gave me 221g .
Please share ur exp with me...

221(g) interview to be scheduled at another consulate

Hi all,
I already have 221(g) white form issued at Mumbai which was given on 13th DEC 2008 which is clearly described on the link

Please find attached my 221(g). It states that i need to interview from Mumbai consulate. Considering the market situation and Visa approvals, i want to attend the h1b Visa interview only after few months.

I already have an L1B blankett visa through my company.
Is there any way to attend the 221(g) h1b visa interview from US?
