Hi, our family recently relocated to the US (Rochester, NY), based on my husband's H1B visa obtained through Rochester Institute of Technology. I would like to work part-time in the us in my field of expertise (food science). I hold a Ph.D. in food science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. My questions is... can I apply for some kind of employment authorization document as spouse of a H1B, or do I have to apply for my own H1B? What is the best way to go about securing employment authorization for myself.
