Can i transfer h1b , i got laid off while on vacation

Hi all,

I got laid of in dec 2008 while i was on vacation in india.

My employer told that they have initiated the process to notify USCIS about my departure.

Can i do something to save my h1b status.
can i transfer it to another employer i have pay stubs till dec 31 2008.

Read the FAQs and understand what status means. You hold status while in the US, not outside US. H1b can be transferred over to a new employer anytime you have time left from the 6 years even if you are outside the US. Paystubs are needed to prove status and you dont need them if you are outside US.
